Walkthrough Planned Of Potential Site For Westport's Public Safety Complex
Officials and the public will the opportunity to walk through the proposed Sherwood Island Connector site in the future.

Editor's Note: On March 31, 2025, town officials cancelled the walkthrough of the potential Public Safety Complex site, scheduled for April 3, 2025. A date has not yet been set for the walkthrough, as of the writing of this note, but officials said it will be rescheduled in the future.

WESTPORT, CT — Following the February 25, 2025 Open House Charrette, the Town of Westport invites residents and stakeholders to participate in the next phase of public engagement: a Walkthrough of the Potential Site of the Sherwood Island Connector and proposed Public Safety Complex. This event will provide an opportunity for community members to review site maps and tour the potential location for the complex.

Event Details:
- Date and Time: Thursday, April 3, 2025, 1:00-2:00 PM
- Location: State Parking Lot on Sherwood Island Connector
Town officials, project planners, and public safety representatives will be on-site to answer questions and provide detailed insights into the project's goals and anticipated benefits for the community. During the walkthrough, attendees will be guided through key areas of the proposed site and will have access to updated project maps. This event serves as an interactive opportunity for residents to review the plans, provide feedback, and engage in meaningful discussions about the project’s future.

Together with First Selectwoman Jen Tooker, Police Chief Foti Koskinas and Fire Chief/Emergency Management Director Nicholas Marsan emphasized the significance of this next step. They stated, “After receiving valuable feedback during the charrette, we are excited to share the proposed plans with our residents and provide a closer look at the possible site. This walkthrough allows residents to see the location, ask questions, and directly engage with the project, ensuring that their voices are heard in the ongoing development process. We encourage community members to participate and continue shaping this important initiative that will touch all residents and businesses in Westport.”
