Westport 12U Baseball Wins District Championship

WESTPORT, CT — Westport 12U Baseball won a district championship this past weekend in extraordinary fashion, 6-2 on a grand slam in the 9th inning against a very talented Fairfield National team.

This is the team’s third straight district championship after winning States at 10U and 11U, and only the third 12U title for Westport since 1957, the last one coming in 2013 when the team made it all the way to Williamsport and the National finals.

The team won its first game in sectionals last night 8-3 against a tough Orange team, with their next game scheduled for Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. at Unity Park in Trumbull against Wilton.

If they advance, the sectional finals will be Friday 5:45 p.m. Unity Park is a great facility with awesome hosts, so come out and cheer them on as they chase their dreams of making it to Williamsport.
