Westport Banker Receives 'Women Innovators' Award

The award was given by Westfair Business Journal.

WESTPORT, CT — Virginia Turnbull, senior vice president and commercial lending team leader at Fairfield County Bank, has been named one of the 2025 Women Innovators by Westfair Business Journal.

The annual recognition highlights women leaders across industries who have been nominated by peers for their impact, innovation and leadership in their fields. Honorees will be recognized at a dinner in September at the Waters Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien.

Turnbull, who has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, joined Fairfield County Bank in 2012. She manages a team of commercial lenders and oversees a business lending portfolio from the bank’s Compo Road office in Westport.

"We are so excited that Virginia is being recognized for her tireless work and ingenuity," said Glen LeBlanc, Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer, Fairfield County Bank, in a statement. "Virginia inspires her colleagues each day to push further and create new efficiencies. This award is incredibly well deserved."

In addition to her work at the bank, she volunteers with Junior Achievement of Fairfield County, teaching financial literacy in elementary schools.
