Westport Center for Senior Activities Open House Nov. 13

The Westport Center for Senior Activities (WCSA) expands its programs to fulfill increasing demands.

Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe and the Westport Center for Senior Activities Enhancement Committee is inviting the public to an Open House on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 2-4 pm at the Westport Center for Senior Activities (21 Imperial Avenue).

For the past 12 years the Westport Center for Senior Activities (WCSA) has provided extremely successful and well-received programs for Westport seniors and the community as a whole. Because of increasing program demands, as well as preparation for the future, the time has come for the WCSA to be enhanced and/or expanded so that it may continue to provide meaningful programs in an appropriate, safe and welcoming environment.

In September, 2015, the WCSA Enhancement Committee was appointed by the First Selectman to define potential enhancements to the current WCSA facility in order to meet evolving needs and anticipated demand. Recently, the Board of Finance, Board of Selectmen and the Representative Town Meeting all voted unanimously to appropriate funds for the purpose of preliminary schematic design services for the enhancement project. The Open House on November 13 will provide an opportunity for residents to meet the Enhancement Committee members, learn about the current “happenings” at the Center, the projected needs and demographics, and hear from the architect.

We look forward to seeing you on November 13 and sharing the Town’s vision for the Westport Center for Senior Activities.
