Westport Fine Arts Festival This Weekend; Traffic Advisory Issued

The popular event is celebrating its 52nd edition.

WESTPORT, CT — The 52nd edition of the Westport Fine Arts Festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, and the Westport Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for the event.

"Our nationally recognized, juried festival features a premier roster of regional, national, and international fine artists exhibiting in various media categories - including painting, photography, sculpture, fiber, printmaking, mixed media, glass, ceramics, jewelry, wood, graphics, and printmaking," the Westport Downtown Association, organizer of the festival, wrote in a statement.

The event is held in Westport's Main Street and downtown area, as a result, the police department is closing the following streets, beginning at 6 a.m. on Friday and running to 10 p.m. on Sunday:

  • Main Street between Post Road East and Avery Place
  • Elm Street between Main Street and Bedford Square

"These road closures will result in traffic congestion downtown and increased pedestrian traffic," authorities wrote in a statement. "The motoring public are urged to use caution while driving through Downtown Westport this weekend."
