Westport Man Held on $50,000 Bond for Probation Violations
Westport police reports: Dec. 8-12.

Russell Reed, 20, of 1655 Post Road East, Westport, was charged Dec. 10 with two probation violations. While at the Charity Toy Drive, at 1550 Post Road East, an officer observed Reed walking in the area. Reed was known by the officer to have an active warrant for a probation violation. The warrant was verified and police learned Reed had a second warrant out of Stamford for an additional probation violation. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was unable to post a $50,000 bond and was held pending his arraignment in Norwalk Superior Court Monday.
Brian Winski, 48, of 5 Baker Place, Stamford, was charged with DUI and improper rear marker lamps Dec. 10. Winski was observed traveling westbound on Charles Street at a very slow speed. He was also observed looking down into his lap while driving, causing his vehicle to swerve within the travel lane. As the accused vehicle passed the officer’s location, he could see that the vehicle’s rear marker light was not illuminated. Upon stopped him, the officer smelled a strong alcoholic odor on his breath. Winski failed the field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and taken into custody. He submitted to a breath test with the following results: .193 and .186. He was later released for court Dec. 19 after posting a $500 bond.
