Westport Police Bust Stamford Biker Following Motorcycle Fire
The bike began to smoke on I-95, but police said the suspect was able to flee the scene on foot prior to their arrival.

David Lionetti, 26, of Stamford, was charged April 20 with evading responsibility, misuse of plate, first-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree criminal mischief.
officers and the responded to the rear of 111 Saugatuck Avenue for the report of a motorcycle fire, but it was reported that the operator left on foot, police indicated in the report. The operator, later identified as Lionetti, was located approximately two blocks from the fire. According to police, Lionetti stated he was traveling southbound on I-95 and his motorcycle began to smoke. He drove his motorcycle off of I-95 exit 17, directly across Saugatuck Avenue and into the rear parking lot of 111 Saugatuck Avenue where police said he took the plate off of the motorcycle and called a friend to pick him up.
The partially charred plate was located in Lionetti’s backpack and it did not match the motorcycle that it had been on, according to police. He posted $15,000 bond and was later released for court April 30.
