Westport police reports: Jan. 9 - 11.

Lamar Robinson, 28, of 397 Anson Street, Bridgeport, was charged Tuesday with possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating without insurance.

Robinson was stopped on Post Road East for having an unregistered motor vehicle and no insurance. While speaking with Robinson, officers noticed many empty pill and alcohol bottles strewn around the vehicle. While searching the vehicle for narcotics and weapons, officers lifted up a stereo equipment box in the trunk and observed the wooden butt stock of what appeared to be a rifle.  Robinson explained that it was a shotgun that belonged to his father and that he forgot it was in the vehicle. He was taken into custody and released from  after posting bond. In addition to the above charges, he was issued an infraction for possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana. Robinson is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 20.
