Westport Police To Host 'Cones With A Cop' Event
The department's Benevolent Association is teaming up with Westport's Sunny Daes in the outreach effort.
WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Police Benevolent Association is teaming up with ice cream shop Sunny Daes, 30 Riverside Ave. in Westport, for a "Cones with a Cop" outreach event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21.
"Bring your kids and enjoy a free ice cream cone while you chat with local Westport police officers," officials said in a statement. "The goal is to create a relationship with the youth, with an emphasis on getting kids to know their local police. Adults are welcome too. Stop by, meet some officers, and discuss some issues. It’s a perfect way to cool off, connect and support community relations before the kids go back to school."

"Cones with a Cop" is the summertime version of coffee with a cop, just with ice cream instead of coffee. These events have served to build trust and help foster a sense of community.
Beat the heat and chill with your local officers at Cones with a Cop hosted by the Westport PBA. The men and women of the Westport PBA would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to Sunny Daes for hosting this event.
