Westport Public Schools Launches Security FAQ Webpage

The Frequently Asked Questions webpage answers 20 questions about school security.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport Public Schools has added a new webpage on its district website to answer questions surrounding school security," Superintendent Thomas Scarice announced.

"Following the security concerns of last week, we worked closely with the Westport Police Department to provide answers to many questions we received about school security," Scarice wrote in a message to the school system community.

The Frequently Asked Questions webpage answers 20 questions about school security, such as "What should I do if I receive a threatening message during school hours?"; "What should students do if they see or hear something concerning?"and "What security measures are in place at school buildings?"

This month, Westport and other Connecticut communities grappled with multiple threats to schools, with many of these threats being posted on social media.

A juvenile Westport student was arrested in connection with a threat, and students in other districts were also arrested in threats in those communities.
