Westport Residents Urged To Stay Off Roads During Monday's Storm
Before it is over, Monday's storm could dump 18 inches of snow throughout much of the state.

WESTPORT, CT — As Monday's snow storm continues to rage throughout the region, Westport residents are being asked to stay off the roads to allow crews to clear them.
A winter storm warning remains in effect in Fairfield County and the state until 6 a.m. Tuesday, and Gov. Ned Lamont issued a travel ban on certain tractor trailers. He also urged Connecticut residents to stay at home if possible.

"We ask that all residents stay off the roads during this snow emergency so our Public Works and Connecticut DOT personnel can clear them as quickly and safely as possible and our Public Safety personnel can more easily respond to emergencies," Westport officials wrote on Facebook.
Westport Public Schools, and Greens Farms Academy in Westport, were closed Monday, and decisions had not yet been made about openings on Tuesday.

Town Hall in Westport is closed, but government employees "have been encouraged to work remotely."
