Westport's Commission for Senior Services Sets Date for Annual Meeting

Topics of conversation at the June 8 meeting will include the Baron's South Senior Housing Proposal.

 

Westport Human Services Director Barbara Butler announced that the Commission for Senior Services will hold its 17thAnnual Meeting on Friday, June 8, starting at 10 a.m. at the .

“The agenda for this year’s meeting will highlight the current projects of the Commission for Senior Services and the Town of Westport that affect senior residents,” said Butler.

These topics include the ; L.I.N.K.S. Connections for Independent Living, the new Westport program offering options for seniors to remain in their own homes; ITN Coastal CT, the new senior transportation program offering 24/7 service.  State legislators and a representative from U.S. Congressman Jim Himes office will attend with a legislative update.

In addition, Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff will present the annual award for outstanding “Service to Older Adults” award to Fran Reynolds, who has served as a volunteer advocate for Westport seniors on many local and regional boards.

The public is encouraged to attend the annual meeting including the open discussion on Friday, June 8, and the award ceremony for Fran Reynolds.   Light refreshments will be served.
