Westport Schools and JazzFC to Kick Off Music Program

The Jazz Society of Fairfield County will present musician Greg Wall and his Quintet on April 27.

From Westport Public Schools: The Jazz Society of Fairfield County (JazzFC), a local not-for profit arts organization, will present Jazz musician Greg Wall and his Quintet, conducting a Jazz Improvisation Clinic on April 27th at 3:30 p.m. for music students from Staples High School and Bedford and Coleytown Middle Schools. The quintet will also give a performance for the students. This event will be held at Staples High School and will serve as the “kick-off” to an ongoing partnership between the Westport Schools and JazzFC.

In addition, on April 27th, the CT State Legislature will issue a citation declaring jazz an important part of the cultural life of our citizens, and recognizing JazzFC as a high impact arts organization, at a benefit concert at 323 Restaurant and Jazz Club in Westport. Referred to as “the jazz rabbi”, Greg Wall is a celebrated musician and recording artist who has played in venues from Carnegie Hall and the Village Vanguard, to stages throughout the world. He also serves as Rabbi at the Beit Chaverim Synagogue in Westport. The mission of JazzFC is to enrich the cultural life of Fairfield County by promoting the performance and appreciation of Jazz music through:

● The presentation of free or low cost concerts by accomplished artists
