WESTPORT, CT — Human Services Director Elaine Daignault invites residents to support The Westport Warm-Up Fund, a community-supported initiative that helps income-qualified households with home heating expenses during the cold winter months.
Human Services Finance Manager Sibel Yorulmaz says, “The Warm-Up Fund relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and community service organizations to support Westport's most vulnerable citizens. 100% of all donations are used to keep Westport residents warm this year.”

This program is essential for residents whose earnings fall narrowly above state income guidelines, making them ineligible for state or federal assistance. Yet, they still need help with crucial utility costs to heat their homes.
Daignault adds, “For those struggling to meet basic needs like food, housing, and heating costs, the winter months are emotionally and financially burdensome. Warm-up donations allow our department to confidently assist our "invisible" neighbors in need. Despite a wealth of resources in our small community, many neighbors quietly struggle to keep the lights on and their houses warm."
