WESTPORT, CT — A 25-year-old Old Greenwich woman was arrested last week on a charge of second-degree larceny, after Westport police said she stole more than $14,000 worth of merchandise from the luxury clothing store Mitchell's on the Post Road East.

Rachel Lewis surrendered on Friday at Westport Police Headquarters on the active warrant. The investigation began in April.

"A loss prevention officer reported that on Saturday, April 12, 2025, a customer known to the store as Rachel Lewis had come to the location to return merchandise," wrote Lt. Anthony Prezioso in a statement. "During this same visit, Lewis also paid for two items but was alleged to have taken numerous other expensive items of clothing that she had not paid for. Through further investigation and a review of surveillance footage, it appeared that Lewis had also been switching tags on stolen merchandise and conducting fraudulent returns."
