WESTPORT, CT — Vince McMahon, the hard-charging co-founder and former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, was involved in a multiple vehicle crash last week on the Merritt Parkway in Westport, according to Connecticut State Police.

No injuries were reported in the Thursday morning collision, but McMahon, 79, was issued a misdemeanor summons on charges of reckless driving and following too closely, resulting in an accident.

The crash occurred at about 9:20 a.m. northbound on the Merritt just south of Exit 41.

McMahon was driving his 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed in the right lane, when the car rear-ended a 2023 BMW 430 driven by a 72-year-old New York City woman, according to state police. The Bentley then smashed into the wooden beam guardrail in the median.

Debris from the crash flew over the guardrail into the southbound lane, where it was struck by a 2020 Ford Fusion Titanium driven by a North Haven man, 27.

All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

McMahon, the only operator cited by state police, has resided in Connecticut for years, and the WWE's headquarters is located in Stamford.

He was released after posting a $500 non-surety bond, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 26.
