Woman With Portrait in Rear-View Mirror Arrested in Westport
The woman was initially stopped by police because she had a large portrait hanging from her rear-view mirror.

Westport police charged Pauline Reid Monday night with two counts of second-degree failure to appear, first-degree failure to appear, operating under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance coverage and articles obstructing view.
Police said the 26-year-old Stamford resident was seen driving a vehicle with what appeared to be a large portrait in a photo frame hanging from the rear-view mirror, which was clearly posing an obstruction to her view of the roadway ahead.
When Reid was stopped, the officer determined that there were three for failure to appear for her. One of the failure to appear charges originated out of Darien Police Department stemming from an original arrest for motor vehicle violations. The second failure to appear charge originated out of Stamford Police Department stemming from additional motor vehicle charges that she failed to appear in court for, according to the police report.

The failure to appear charge in the first degree also originated out of Stamford, The original charges were possession of a hallucinogen along with other several motor vehicle charges, police said.
Reid was released on a promise to appear for the motor vehicle charges from this department and posted surety bonds through a bondsman for the other charges.
