1 Person Injured In Early Morning Wilton Condo Fire
The Wilton Fire Department received the 911 call at 4:35 a.m. Sunday morning.

WILTON, CT — Wilton emergency crews tackled a condo fire early Sunday morning
The Wilton Fire Department received the 911 call at 4:35 a.m. and dispatched units to the Wilton Crest condominium complex for an odor of smoke and a resident trapped inside.
First responders encountered fire, smoke and heat from the first floor of a two-floor unit. The resident had jumped from the second-floor window, and was being rescued from the rear of the property by Wilton police officers.

After confirming there were no other occupants, firefighters were able to make, confine and extinguish the blaze, Fire Chief James Blanchfield said in a news release.
The resident was taken to Norwalk Hospital by Wilton EMS for injuries sustained at the scene.

In addition to the Wilton Police Department and Wilton EMS, automatic aid was provided by the Westport Fire Department, New Canaan Fire Department, Weston Fire Department, with the Norwalk Fire Department providing station coverage for the duration of the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Wilton Fire Marshal’s Office.
