- The is hosting an event for the Royal Wedding today from 12-2 p.m. There will be champagne and cake provided by the Cake Boutique! So drop in and watch the (prerecorded) ceremony—and hope that registration didn’t fill up.
- It will be a high of 68 degrees today, but with about a 50 percent humidity and some light wind. Overall, it should be a nice day for a wedding.
- The Bacon Brothers are playing at the Ridgefield Playhouse tonight at 8 p.m. Before the event, have some wine and food in the lobby, provided by Cellar XV and Nature’s Temptations. Tickets are $65.
- On this day in 1992, the Rodney King riots broke out in Los Angeles.
- Newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst was born today. Hearst owned The New York Journal and The San Francisco Examiner. He was the inspiration for the classic movie Citizen Kane and was credited with the creation of yellow journalism.
