Cycling Sports Group Recalls Bike Due to Possible Front Axle Failure
Wilton-based Cycling Sports Group, the parent company of Cannondale, announced the recall which can result in serious injury.
WILTON, CT — Wilton-based Cycling Sports Group, the parent company of Cannondale, is recalling 3,500 Cannondale Bad Boy and Bad Girl bicycles due to potential failure of the front hub axle, according to theU.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall involves bikes manufactured between 2010 and 2012.
The company sold about 3,100 of the affected bikes in the U.S. and 400 in Canada and the bikes had matte black frames. Only bicycles with date codes beginning with P, Q and RB through RL are included in this recall.
Consumers are urged to stop using the bicycles and take them to a Cannondale dealer for a free repair.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the company has received 30 reports of the bicycle's fork axle cracking, including one report of a fall that resulted in a concussion and bruising.
