Danbury Man Charged With Marijuana Possession

Istref Dauti, 20, of Danbury was charged with failure to drive right, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Sept. 6 at 9:51 p.m.

According to police, Dauti was stopped because he was driving over the double yellow line into the opposite lane on Danbury Road. Police located a pipe with what appeared to be marijuana residue in it and charged Dauti with an infraction. 

Evading responsibility

Thomas Gallagher, 53, of Danbury was charged with evading responsibility and following too closely following a motor vehicle accident on Danbury Road, near Kensett Avenue, on Sept. 4 at 9:45 a.m.

According to police, Gallagher rear-ended a vehicle waiting to make a left-hand turn. That vehicle turned into a parking lot to call police, while Gallagher drove off. He was later located at his Danbury residence.

Gallagher is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20. 

Failure to appear

A 23-year-old Danbury woman was charged with failure to appear in the second degree, driving with a suspended license and running a red light on Sept. 7 at 8:45 a.m.

According to police, Nguyen was heading south on Danbury Road when she ran a red light. Upon investigation, police released her license was suspended and she had an active warrant for failing to appear in court to answer a larceny in the sixth degree charge. 

She was held on $1,500 bond and taken to court that day.
