Elevated Bacteria Levels Found in Wilton Stormwater Pipes: Report
Elevated levels of E. coli have been found in the town's stormwater pipes.

WILTON, CT — Elevated levels of E. coli have been found in the town's stormwater pipes, reports the Norwalk Hour. The state's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection found that the average amount of E. coli found in six samples of Wilton's stormwater system was more than 17 times the amount listed under the DEEP water quality standards.
The report indicates the samples were drawn in 2014, but recent data collected by the Wilton Department of Public Works indicated that bacteria counts still exceeded DEEP criteria, reports the publication. Field Engineer Mike Ahern told The Hour the problem is a statewide issue
