The Wilton Library heats up July nights with its eleventh annual Summer Music & More Concert Series beginning July 7, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Chance Browne, a renowned and popular local musician, opens the summer concert fest for the tenth year.
Mr. Browne recently noted, “I so look forward to playing at the library every year – it really has kept me feeling reconnected with my home town, since moving back with my family 20 years ago.”

This year, Chance will bring an acoustic sound to his funk/blues style, perfect for the Brubeck Room.
The concerts continue on consecutive Thursday nights with acoustic rock, vocal oldies and a big Motown sound. The concert series is made possible by The Village Market which has championed the library’s concerts for the eleven years they have been in existence.

Returning on July 14, Jeff Harding is a former Wiltonian, having graduated from Wilton High School, who now makes his music in Florida. His acoustic rock sound will be a mix of song covers, as well as selections from his newest CD, “Look East.”
In Harmony brings their lively, finger-snapping, hand-clapping enthusiasm back to the library on July 21 with their renditions of popular vocal oldies. This group of six performers – Dee Heavrin, Adrienne Lisko, Robin Miller, Scott Poarch, Peter Randazzo and Lenny Seiter – is always a crowd-pleaser.
The concerts wrap up with The Bernadettes on July 28, a Connecticut band new to the summer series performing Motown, funk, soul, blues and R&B. This group brings a big band sound to the library and promises a fitting end to the summer concert season.
According to Janet Crystal, the library’s publicist and summer concert promoter, “The concerts will be held in the East Courtyard or the Brubeck Room, depending upon the weather. Rain, shine or blistering hot weather, we have a place for everyone to sit down (or stand up) and enjoy the music each Thursday night. It’s a great way to get a jump on the summer weekend.”
The concerts are open to all and free of charge, along with the refreshments. The wine is generously donated by Michael Crystal, founder of the Grand Crew Wine Club. Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road in the heart of Wilton Center. For information and directions, visit www.wiltonlibrary.org or call 203-762-3950, ext. 213.
