Engaged Couple Arrested After Argument in Wilton

Domestic incident results in two arrests in Wilton

On Monday, Aug. 27, responded to a domestic incident on Heritage Court that resulted in the arrests of an engaged couple, police said.

According to police, the couple—both 25-years-old—got into argument during which the female hit and scratched the male. The male then pushed the female down during the argument.

The female was charged with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct, while the male was charged with disorderly conduct. Both were released on written promises to appear in court later that day.

Larceny

On Thursday, Aug. 23, a woman who works at an office on Danbury Road reported to police she left her light-brown Coach purse inside the cafeteria area during lunch. She sought to retrieve it shortly thereafter, and it was gone. The woman said the $150 purse contained $300 cash, a cell phone and credit cards. The cards were canceled before being used by the thief.

On Friday, Aug. 24, a man reported that $200 had been stolen from his backpack which had been secured in a locker during a one-hour period at the Wilton YMCA.

On Sunday, Aug. 26, an employee at the Georgetown Mobil reported to police that someone had stolen his iPad, valued at $699. The device was left in a work area within the business. The case remains under investigation.

Soliciting

Shawn Gatling, 39, of Richmond, Va. was charged with soliciting without a permit after he was found to be selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door in the area of Cherry Lane and Henry Austin Drive after being warned that permits were required to conduct such business, as per town ordinance.

Gatling, who did not possess proper identification and was found to have criminal records in several states, was fined $136.
