Fifteenth Annual Golf Classic a Swinging Success

Not even the inclement weather could dampen the revelry and camaraderie of Wilton area business associates, who turned out on the greens to spend the day vying for the coveted 'Wilton Cup' at the Wilton Chamber of Commerce’s annual Golf Classic. On June 1, 2011, 60 golfers gathered in support of this event, sponsored by Reynolds & Rowella, LLP for the 15th straight year, and played their best in hopes of winning some of the many impressive donated prizes, including golf clubs, Masters paraphernalia, private golf lessons, a golf foursome at Rock Ridge Country Club, fine wine baskets, a year-long cigar club membership, and more.

Participants gathered at Rock Ridge Country Club on Monday, May 23, to hit the links and mingle with Wilton’s business community. The trophy was awarded to Golf Digest's Bob Carney and Jeff Patterson. This prestigious award will be engraved and displayed at their corporate headquarters here in Wilton until next year's event. The players were also awarded for their talent in the Closest to the Pin challenge.

The golf outing is one of the Chamber’s top two mainstay fundraisers. Players come from all over Fairfield County to network with some of Wilton’s senior level executives and support the Chamber’s community initiatives and scholarship fund. It is vital for our business community to come together, back one another, and contribute to an environment that ensures success and prosperity for everyone. This tournament helps to support the efforts of the Chamber to accomplish this undertaking.
