Correction Needed! My husband and I were recently informed of an article that ran in the Fairfield Patch on April 30, entitled What an informative piece about same-sex marriages in CT and the justice of the peace that performs them! While we are thrilled to live in a state that allows what we believe to be a right, we do have some issues with this article.
First of all, the main photo alongside the article is actually of us, much to our surprise. Why would a photo of us, a straight couple, be included with same-sex weddings? Upon further inspection we were even more surprised…. The accompanying caption reads “Daniel Zingaro and Neil Tardella, who were married by Justice of the Peace Mary Pugh in New Haven's Lighthouse Point Park carousel.” If I read that caption I too would think the photo belonged, since it clearly states that you’re looking at two married men. And wow, doesn’t that one look great in drag?
Well, his name is not Daniel, her name is Danielle, and I am very much a woman and I was born this way baby! You can probably imagine the look of shock on my husband’s face when were notified of this gem by my mother-in-law, wherein she admitted she couldn’t believe we had her fooled for so long! While this pretty large mistake has provided everyone we know with endless entertainment, we would very much like to insist that you print a correction and set the record “straight.” Thank you.
