New computer models show that the powerful storm's path has changed a bit overnight and we'll let you know the impact on your area. BREAKING

WILTON, CT — In Connecticut, the overnight hours have yielded some good news concerning the potential impact Tropical Storm Hermine, which is soon to become a hurricane, may have on your Labor Day weekend plans.
According to NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan, new computer models this morning show that the storm will “stall far enough south to give us just fringe effects this weekend” including some rain, and wind.
“Can't write off a more serious impact yet but the most likely scenario is not a terrible one for CT,” Hanrahan said this morning on social media.

Saturday will still be the best weather of the weekend with sunny skies and temps in the mid to upper 70s. Unfortunately, Hermine, as of now, will have enough of an impact on Sunday and Mondays weather that it will be mostly cloudy both days and a chance of showers Sunday afternoon and evening, especially the closer to the coast you are in Connecticut.
Labor Day itself is now forecast to be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers statewide and temps in the 70s. It’s unclear currently how much rain is expected to fall on Sunday and Monday.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said rain is also expected Thursday.
“High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. I do expect nice weather to come back for Friday and Saturday,” Simmons said on social media, while adding all eyes are on Hermine for later in the holiday weekend.
We’ll continue to update the holiday weekend forecast.
