Shoplifter Dodged Wilton Police For 3 Months, Finally Nabbed: Report

Wilton police nabbed a suspect in a shoplifting case who had eluded them for over three months.

WILTON, CT — Police have charged a suspect in a shoplifting case who had eluded them for over three months.

On Sept. 15, a business in Wilton Center contacted the Wilton PD to complain of a shoplifter who had very nearly fled the scene.

After receiving a description of the suspect and her car, police discovered the vehicle traveling away from the business. The officers activated their emergency lights and sirens, but the suspect did not pull over.

Over the course of their investigation, police identified Simone Corine Buster, 36, of Carleton Avenue in Bridgeport as their prime suspect, and obtained a warrant for her arrest.

Police executed the warrant on Dec. 19, and delivered Buster to Stamford Superior Court for same-day arraignment.
