Here's what to know and where to go in and around Wilton for Thursday, Aug. 22nd:
- The NWS forecasts a chance of showers and thunderstorms for Wilton mainly after 9:00am, so bring an umbrella today. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 85°. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
- Back to school countdown: There are just 4 days remaining until school resumes on August 26th, according to the Wilton Public Schools calendar for 2013-14.
- Wilton Continuing Education registration for girls fall gymnastics. There are multiple sections depending on age and skill level. (Some sections are full). Classes start Monday, August 26 and runs through Monday, November 25. All gymnastics classes are held in the Auxiliary Gym at Wilton High School.
**Registration ends on Thursday, August 22. Registrations received after this date will be accepted only if there is space. A $20 late fee will apply per program.
- Register for Wilton Little League: Games begin shortly after Labor Day.
Wilton residents are invited to register for WLL's Fall Baseball. The program is open for players who will be beginning grade 3 in the fall through those who will be LL age 12 on April 30th, 2014. There will be two leagues, one for players in grades 3 and 4, and the other for those in grades 5-7. There will be two games per week, one on a weekend and one on Saturday. - Want to be a vendor in a craft fair and flea market in Bethel in September? It only costs $35 and the deadline to sign up is Aug. 28th. The event will take place on the ground of Plumtrees School. The event is Saturday, Sept.14th with a raindate of the 15th.
