U.S. National Guard Veteran, Wilton Resident Alfred Rood Butler, 65, Passed Away Peacefully
Mr. Butler sang with the Wilton Singers and his church choir.
Wilton, CT — Alfred Rood Butler, 65, passed away peacefully at home in Wilton, CT on June 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was born in Manchester, CT, graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University and served as a member of the Army National Guard. He made a career in the insurance industry for 43 years and was a partner in the Pierson & Smith Agency which was recently acquired by First Niagara.
His passions were golf, singing, with both the Wilton Singer and church choirs, and scouting.

Fred was passionate about his family and deeply committed to his wife of 43 years, Tina (Twomey) Butler. They married in 1973 and together raised two children, Andrew Butler and Erica Butler and lovingly welcomed their partners Marielle Butler and Catherine Lomauro. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Morgane, Savannah, and Jeremiah Butler, his siblings Barbara Allison and David Butler, and his father's second wife Adeline Butler.He was predeceased by his parents Charles Dwelley Butler and Evelyn Rood Butler.
A service was held at the Wilton Baptist Church 254 Danbury Road Wilton, CT on Tuesday June 28. The burial will be private at a later date.
