Wilton Fireworks Show Budget Trimmed: Report
The show will still take place, but will do so with a thinner budget than years past.

WILTON, CT — The town's annual fireworks show on the Fourth of July will still take place, however it will do so with a thinner budget than it has in years past, reports the Wilton Bulletin. The budget for the annual extravaganza at Wilton High School will be lowered by about $12,000 from the usual $35,000 cost, according to Parks and Recreation Director Steve Pierce.
While it is not immediately clear what exactly will be cut from the show, the Bulletin reports that the cuts probably mean getting rid of expensive staging and live bands. The concert series in the parks, the department's other offering, appears to be unaffected by budget cuts, according to the publication.
