Wilton Girls U12A Soccer Team Beats Fairfield 4-1
The Girls U12A soccer team culminated their spring season with a decisive victory over Fairfield and placed first in their division.

Demonstrating the strong passing game that NOGA coach Adam Corlett has taught, the U-12A girls were able to outpace Fairfield, 4-1.
The aggressive offense of Katie McAdams, Anna Sargeantson and Meghan Keating pressured Fairfield as the game started. At the same time, the Wilton defense of Margaret Smith, Carolyn Yee, Ally Batter, Hannah Jung and Erika Bonnist were quick and effective in holding off a few attacks on goal.

Melanie Turza was a powerhouse in goal, as the well-matched teams were scoreless at the half.
Coming out of halftime it was clear that Wilton was fired up to win. The first goal came as Bonnist drove in a powerful shot, which was blocked by Fairfield, only for Elizabeth Healy to fire into the goal.
Shortly after, McAdams crossed to Bonnist, who touched the ball over to Rachel Overbeeke for another strong shot to score.

The Fairfield offense picked up some momentum, but was shut down by Grace Schaller, Hannah Simmons and Ellie Armstrong. Goalie Sargeantson made several dramatic saves.
Later in the half, McAdams provided a clean pass to Sydney Brant, who booted in the third goal. Melanie Turza wrapped up Wilton’s scoring by bring the ball down the field and blasting it in.
An unfortunate last minute goal put Fairfield on the scoreboard, but it was too late to thwart the U-12 Wilton champions.
