Wilton Newcomers Raise $11,000 to Benefit Wilton Public Schools

The following is a press release sent by Marie Giangrande on behalf of the Wilton Newcomers Club

$11,000 was raised by the “Taste of Spring” event held last month. As can be seen in the attached photo, Vivian McVey (left) and Denise Worst (right), co-presidents of the Wilton Newcomers Club, handed  Chairmain of the Wilton Education Foundation (WEF), the hearty check.

The funds will be used for Wilton Public Schools - namely professional development and technology such as the SMARTBoard® displayed in the background being used by Cider Mill students Shanna Kosar and Mathew McVey.

As reported in the most recent Technology Evaluation paper, SMARTBoard ® deployment is 93 percent complete in Miller Driscoll, but only 32% in Middlebrook and 45 percent in the High School.
