Wilton Opens Warming Centers As Severe Cold Weather Protocol Continues

Wilton officials have announced the opening of several warming centers to provide relief from the frigid conditions.

WILTON, CT — With Connecticut bracing for dangerously cold temperatures following a weekend winter storm, Wilton officials have announced the opening of several warming centers to provide relief from the frigid conditions.

The state’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol will remain in effect until noon Saturday, Feb. 22, as an arctic air mass brings single-digit temperatures and subzero wind chills across the region.
Residents in need of a warm space can visit the following locations in Wilton:

  • Comstock Community Center (180 School Road)
    • Tuesday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    • Saturday – Sunday: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • Visitors should check in at the front desk for the designated warming area.
  • Wilton YMCA (404 Danbury Road)
    • Tuesday – Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    • Saturday – Sunday: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • Visitors should confirm the warming center location at the front desk.
  • Wilton Library (137 Old Ridgefield Road)
    • Tuesday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    • Sunday: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Residents in need of emergency shelter due to extreme conditions can call 2-1-1 or visit 211ct.org for a list of available resources. Wilton Social Services is also available for assistance at 203-834-6238.
