Wilton Opens Warming Centers As Temps Expected To Plummet

The Warming Center at Comstock, 180 School Road, Room 8, will be open Saturday and Sunday.

WILTON, CT — The Town of Wilton is taking precautions this weekend in anticipation of dangerously low temperatures.

The Warming Center at Comstock, 180 School Road, Room 8, will be open Dec. 21, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Dec. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service forecast for Wilton calls for snow on Saturday, with a high near 32 degrees, and wind chill values between 15 and 25. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

On Saturday, the temperature is expected to drop to around 13 degrees, with wind chill values between zero and 5. The wind out of the Northweat could gust as high as 22 mph, according to NWS.

On Sunday, the temperature is not expected to climb past 24 degrees, and drop to around 10 degrees overnight.
