WILTON, CT — Dangerous dogs and DUI were at the top of the Wilton Police Department blotter this past week.

On Dec. 8 at around 9:50 p.m., Wilton officers were dispatched to the area of Danbury Road/ Ridgefield town line for the report of a 2009 Hyundai Elantra bring driven erratically, almost hitting a guardrail and another vehicle. In their report, police say the driver, Eduardo Sislema-Carguachi, 38, of Foster Street in Danbury, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Sislema-Carguachi failed to perform the standardized field sobriety test to standard and was placed under arrest for DUI. At Police HQ, he submitted to chemical testing, and the results indicated blood alcohol levels of 0.1841 and 0.1824 consecutively, according to police. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older.

At 1:35 a.m. on Dec. 6, police pulled over an Infiniti Q-50 they say was speeding northbound on Danbury Road. The driver, Mark Bonanno, 56, of Haviland Road in Ridgefield, told police he had drunk alcohol prior to driving, according to their report.

Bonanno failed to perform the standardized field sobriety tests to standard, was arrested for DUI, and later refused to submit to chemical testing, according to police.

Police charged Bonanno with speeding and released him after he paid seven percent of his $300 bond. He is scheduled to appear at the Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 17.

Around 9 a.m. on Dec. 2, Khalaf Vitterito, 38, of Bittersweet Trail in Wilton, arrived at Wilton Police HQ to turn himself in on an active arrest warrant stemming from two separate incidents earlier this year. On both occasions, Feb. 23 and March 8, police say Vitterito made false complaints to the police.

Police charged Vitterito with two counts of making a false statement, and scheduled him to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 13.
