Wilton Police Log Highlights For Nov. 25 - Dec. 1

WILTON, CT — Two DUIs, and an accident still under investigation, were at the top of the Wilton Police blotter last week.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Nov. 30, Wilton police pulled over a gray Mercedes-Benz on Seeley Road for failure to drive in the proper lane. The driver, Miraneh Manzouri, 54 of Maple Wood Lane in Wilton, showed signs of impairment, and failed to perform the standard field sobriety tests to standard, according to the police report.

Manzouri was taken to Wilton Police HQ where she refused to submit to chemical testing. She was charged with DUI and failure to drive in the correct lane, and was released after posting 7 percent of her $300 bond. Manzouri is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 12.

A little after 11 p.m. on Nov. 29, Wilton police received a 911 call from a motorist reporting they were behind a vehicle moving erratically. Officers caught up with the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Drum Hill Road and pulled it over.

Police reported they could detect the odor of alcohol on the breath of driver Peter Daniel, 43, of Lake Road. Daniel failed to perform the standard field sobriety tests to standard, according to the police report.

Daniel was taken to Wilton Police HQ where he refused to submit to chemical testing. Police charged him with DUI, failure to drive in the correct lane, and driving an unregistered vehicle. He was released after posting 7 percent of his $300 bond. Daniel is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 13.

At 11:27 p.m. on Nov. 29, Aidan Burke, 23, of Cobbs Mill Road in Wilton, was driving a Subaru Outback westbound on Sharp Hill Road, approximately 200 feet east of Cherry Lane, according to police. Burke then drove off the right side of the roadway, striking the curb, and then a tree stump. This caused the Subaru to spin completely around, striking another standing tree, which caused it to rotate another 90 degrees, police said in their report. Burke was taken to Norwalk Hospital via ambulance for his suspected injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
