Wilton Police Nab Redding Man on DUI, Speeding Charges
Wilton police charged a Redding man with DUI after stopping him for speeding on Danbury Road.
WILTON, CT — A Redding man was arrested early Tuesday after police say he was driving under the influence while speeding on Danbury Road.
Wilton police stopped a gray Jeep Compass around 12:37 a.m. on Feb. 19 after observing it traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. The driver, identified as Francis McNeary, 21, of Blueberry Hill Road, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, authorities said.
McNeary admitted to consuming alcohol before driving and failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said. He was taken into custody and submitted to chemical testing, which revealed blood alcohol levels of 0.118 and 0.114. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older.
