Wilton Weather Friday Includes Possible Thunderstorms, Hail, Gusty Winds

We'll let you know when the severe weather is expected Friday. It's also shaping up to be an extremely hot and humid weekend.

WILTON, CT — It’s finally here in full effect, the heat wave you’ve been hearing about for almost a week now.
Yes, temperatures will be in the 90s and yes it will humid, but there is also severe weather predicted in the forecast on Friday too.

The entire state is under a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for Friday for strong to severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon and early evening. Hail and strong winds is possible too, the National Weather Service states.

Once we get past today’s thunderstorms it will be a sunny weekend but very hot with temps continuing in the low to mid 90s.

For southern CT:
The National Weather Service says there is the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms today...mainly late this afternoon through the first half of tonight. The main threats are damaging wind gusts and large hail.

For northern CT:
The National Weather Service has issued a “Special Weather Statement” saying there is a slight risk for severe storms across the area. The worst of this weather is expected late this afternoon and evening.
These storms will be isolated to scattered and the biggest risk includes damaging winds, some small hail and heavy rain is possible. Also there is a very, very slim chance of a weak tornado, the weather service states.

Detailed weekend forecast for CT:
Friday: Storms in the late afternoon with temps in the mid 90s. It may remain stormy at times up until midnight and then patchy fog is expected in the early morning hours.
Saturday: Sunny and hot, temps in the 90s possibly approaching 95 degrees.
Saturday night: Clear and warm with temps near 70 degrees.
Sunday: Sunny, temps around 90 degrees.
Sunday night: Partly cloudy with temps near 70 degrees.
