Wilton's "Farah's Farm" - Part 2: Recycling, More than 1's and 2's
Six adults are homesteading at 32 Horseshoe Rd. They put a new twist on "recycling."
Earlier this week we introduced Farah's Farm and told you about duck and chicken eggs for sale at the farm stand - all on the honor system.
There is so much more happening at 32 Horseshoe Rd than meets the eye, including a firm commitment to recycling.
From the chicken coops to the compost heaps. From the donated cast iron stove to the repurposed crate someone's bathtub was delivered in, friends and neighbors of the farm offer a variety of materials -- everything is put to good use.
At the end of the day, items are kept out of landfill and the folks at 32 Horseshoe Rd produce almost no garbage.
Look for future posts on Farah's Farm and its satellites. To contact Farah about bartering, volunteering for her CSA, or advice on starting your own backyard projects, email Masani at farahmasani@gmail.com or call (512) 431-1515.
