
1. The Windsor Board of Education will hold a regular meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in Town Hall Council Chambers. Residents are able to address the board during the "Audience to Visitors" portion of the meeting.
2. Windsor Public Schools Financial Director Frank Williams will deliver the district's fiscal year 2010-11 end of year report. Of the more than $60 million the district was budgeted last year, it did not spend just over $400,000 (according to Windsor Public Schools documents, the report has not yet been audited). District documents also report that the money will be returned to the town.
3. Williams and Interim Superintendent Dr. Ernest Perlini will also present cost estimates for the next fiscal year (2012-13). Among the factors considered will be a projected enrollment decline of 1.5 to 2.5 percent.

4. On this day in history, 1867, the United States assumed possession of Alaska after purchasing the territory from Russia for $7.2 million.
5. Today is expected to be partly sunny with a high in the mid-to-upper 60's. Temperatures will fall into the lower 50's tonight, according to National Weather Service reports.
