'Calling All Windsor Men' Marks Another Successful School Opening Day
Fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other male caregivers gathered to give students a warm and encouraging welcome back to school in Windsor.

WINDSOR, CT — Students returned to classes in Windsor Monday with excitement, energy, and a powerful demonstration of community support. The first day of the 2024-25 school year was marked by the district’s signature #CallingAllWindsorMen event, where fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other male caregivers gathered to give students a warm and encouraging welcome.
The atmosphere at each school was electric, as students, staff and families reunited after the summer break. At the high school, middle school and elementary schools across the district, the sight of so many men lining up at the front doors to greet students set a tone of support and community engagement that will carry throughout the year.
The district announced the upcoming launch of the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) program, which provides additional opportunities for fathers and male role models to volunteer in schools. Families are encouraged to contact their school’s Office of Family and Community Partnerships (OFCP) Family Resource Coordinators for more information on how to get involved.
