WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.
Bates College, Lewiston ME
- Rashad King of Windsor graduated from Bates College with a major in politics and minoring in Africana. King received the Dana Scholar Award, the highest honor Bates bestows on students in their first year. King graduates as a member of the College Key, an honor reserved for students who have exhibited outstanding character, academic excellence, campus and community service, as well as leadership and future promise.

- Yisenia Armstrong, Cindy Lopez, Maria Minucci, Antonina Partain, Sara Putorak, Shirley Rodriguez, Amaree Shealey and Sashanna Vassell, all of Windsor, made the Goodwin University President's List for the spring 2025 session. The President's List included 321 students, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA.
- 10 students from Windsor were among those who achieved Dean's List status for the spring 2025 session. They are Miguel Acosta, Renegay Brown, Betty Evans, Amber Gordon, Paige Joseph, Madonna King, Rebekah Lee, Sheikh Mahnoor, Trevon Stapleton and John Zabel. Dean's List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify.
Tufts University, Medford MA
- Tufts University awarded more than 2,800 degrees across all schools during its ceremony commemorating the accomplishments of the Class of 2025. Evan Bygrave of Windsor graduated with a degree in international relations.
