WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Emerson College, Boston MA

  • Two students from Windsor were named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester. Aryana Duncan-Adams is majoring in theatre and performance and is a member of the Class of 2027. Adia Hill is majoring in media arts production and is a member of the Class of 2028. To make the Dean's List, students must have a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.

Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley MA

  • Charlie Watts of Windsor was Mount Holyoke College’s poet-contestant for this year’s Kathryn Irene Glascock Intercollegiate Poetry Contest, the oldest continuously-running poetry contest for undergraduate students in the United States. Students from invited schools are judged by a panel of three distinguished poets. Mount Holyoke's student contestant is chosen by a committee made up of students and faculty. Calls for submission usually go out to all students at the end of the Fall semester, and the contestant is usually announced in February.

University of Maryland Global Campus, College Park MD

  • Dominique Rattray of Windsor was recently elected to membership into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at University of Maryland Global Campus. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.
