Body Found In Submerged Vehicle In CT River In Windsor: ENCON Police

WINDSOR, CT — A car containing a person inside was spotted entering the Connecticut River in Windsor Tuesday morning, a witness told Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police (ENCON).

A search of the water yielded the vehicle containing a man's body several hundred yards from shore, according to ENCON police via NBC Connecticut. Hearst CT reported that the vehicle was found around 5 p.m. and a body was found inside.

ENCON officer Jordan Jacquo originally had told news crews, "Right now, we are trying to locate the vehicle with the assistance of CSP’s dive team as well as multiple local agencies. We don’t know where it is in the water and there is still a report of someone trapped inside."

Emergency personnel entered the river at the East Barber Street boat launch. The recovered vehicle was towed to the Windsor Police Department, NBC Connecticut reported.
