Discover The Wonder Of Blueberries This Season

1. If you told your kids you’re going to feed them something nutritious, rich in antioxidants, full of vitamins A, C and E and betacarotene, they’d probably roll their eyes. But if you tell them you’re talking about blueberries, well that’s a different story! Through proclamation of the United States Department of Agriculture, July is National Blueberry Month, and what a wonderful time to celebrate these little berries, as they’re ripening on Connecticut bushes as you read this. Below are some ways in which you can include blueberries in your summer activities.

4. On this day in history, 1944, the Hartford Circus Fire took place. Started under the Ringling Bros. and Barnam and Bailey big top, the blaze claimed 167 lives and injured 682 others. Two thirds of those who died were children.
5. Hydrate. It's going to be a scorcher. Today's high is expected to be 91ºF. Temperatures will drop to a comfortable 67ºF tonight, according to National Weather Service reports.
