One shining example of the program’s impact is Amy Dudek, daughter of a veteran and EVRP member, whose story embodies courage, determination, and hope. Amy faced uncertainty when stepping into the job market. But everything changed when she joined the Easterseals Veterans Rally Point Professional Work Readiness class.
“From the moment I walked into the class, I knew I was in a special place—it’s like my second home,” Amy recalls. “The program gave me confidence I didn’t even know I had.”
Through workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and a supportive peer community, Amy learned how to articulate her strengths, prepare for interviews, and identify opportunities that matched her values. “Ryan went above and beyond to ensure we were not just prepared, but truly set up for success,” she says. “It was perfect timing for preparing for my interview.”
That preparation paid off—Amy landed her dream job as a Direct Support Specialist at the Cornerstone of Determination and Hope in Plainfield, CT, where she now helps others build the skills needed for independent living.
Finding Family in the Process
For Amy, the journey wasn’t just about career advancement—it was about connection. Beyond the classroom, she began volunteering at Veterans Rally Point, forming deep bonds with fellow veterans and mentors. “The connections I’ve made here are priceless,” she reflects. “It’s about being surrounded by people who understand your journey and genuinely want to see you succeed. These relationships have become an essential part of my life.”
Amy describes Veterans Rally Point as far more than a resource center—it’s a family. “The sense of community, the unwavering support, and the genuine commitment to helping members thrive are what make this program so exceptional,” she says. “I feel a profound sense of belonging here.”
A Pathway to Purpose
Amy’s transformation—from uncertain to unstoppable—illustrates what’s possible when people receive the right support, tools, and encouragement. Her success story serves as an inspiration to others seeking direction and confidence. “If you’re looking to take the next step in your professional life,” Amy says, “the Professional Work Readiness class is a game-changer. With their support, your dream job is within reach. You’ll gain skills—and a family.”
