One Dead In Fiery I-91 Tractor-Trailer Crash
A collision between two tractor-trailers resulted in the closure of I-91 overnight.

WINDSOR, CT — A fiery crash involving two tractor-trailers resulted in one death and closed a portion of I-91 southbound in Windsor Tuesday morning, NBC CT reported. The identity of the person killed in the crash has not been revealed.
The wreck occurred near exit 39 around 1 a.m. Witnesses reported that the accident sounded like a bomb going off and flames could bee seen shooting out of the tractor-trailer, according to NBC CT.
The southbound side of the highway was closed between exits 40 and 38A. Two lanes reopened around 6 a.m. but it's unclear when the interstate will be fully open to traffic. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was checking for fuel spills and environmental damage following the wreck, WTNH reported.
