Get Married For Free In Windsor This Valentine's Day
In an annual tradition dating back to 1962, Windsor is offering free marriage licenses to couples who want to get married within 65 days.
WINDSOR, CT — Couples who want to get married in Windsor are in luck — in honor of Valentine's Day, the Town Clerk's office is offering free marriage licenses on Feb. 14.
Any couple who wants to get married in Windsor within the next 65 days is eligible to get a free license. Couples must make an appointment with the Town Clerk's office, and during the meeting both people must be present and must bring photo identification.
The town has been offering free marriage licenses around Valentine's Day every year since 1962. The tradition stuck after Town Clerk George Tudan awarded one bride and groom a free marriage license, corsage and dinner at Dunphy's Tavern that year.

This year, each couple who picks up a free marriage license will also be entered to win a gift basket with items donated from Windsor's local businesses.

A justice of the peace will be available all day on Feb. 14 for anyone who wants to marry on Valentine's Day, but couples must make prior arrangements with them.
