HARTFORD COUNTY, CT — The calendar is about to turn to September, which means schools are back in session, comfortable sleeping weather is returning, and some area farms re-open one of their most popular seasonal attractions: the corn maze.

Corn mazes came into vogue in the early 1990s, and usually range in size from 2 to 9 acres. They are normally combined with other farm attractions of interest to families and day trippers, such as petting zoos, hay rides and kids' play areas.

Here are some of the finest corn mazes in north-central Connecticut (listed alphabetically). If you know of others in Hartford or Tolland counties, please let us know.
